Fly to Bagan and settle into the hotel, before taking a trip around Bagan by river to see some of its famous temples and stupas, including Shwezigon stupa, Gubyaukkyi temple, Lawkahtaikpan temple, Ananda temple and the massive Dhammayangyi temple. Sunset from a temple in the evening. Overnight in Bagan.
Start the day at the colourful NyaungOo market, and then see traditional village life at Minanthu before visiting the temples of Nandamanya, Pthyathonzu, and Sulamani, Gubyaukkyi (Myinkabar) famous for their murals and Manuha temple. After lunch look around a lacquerware workshop then enjoy the sunset from the top of a temple. Overnight in Bagan.
Fly to Mandalay and arrive at the Hotel, allowing time to see the sights of the town, which include Sagaing with its beautiful pagodas, the famous Mahamuni Buddha image and Mandalay hill with its pagodas. Overnight in Mandalay.
Visit Amarapura, Myanmar's most famous monastery, which is home to 1,700 monks. The rest of the day gives a chance to see the production of crafts including woodcarving, bronze casting, gold leaf making and tapestry. A boat trip from Mandalay along the Ayeyarwaddy River to Mingun. Back to Mandalay in the evening. After dinner, a traditional puppet shows. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day return excursion to Maymyo (PyinOoLwin). Return to Mandalay in late afternoon. Overnight in Mandalay.
Fly to Heho, and then drive to Pindaya. Lunch brake and a stroll at the town market, then onwards to Pindaya to visit Pindaya Cave. Drive to Nyaungshwe. Stay overnight at the hotel in Inle Lake.
A boat trip on Inle Lake sightseeing; the market, floating plantation and Phandawoo Pagoda, with a famous Inle weaving workshop and NgaphalChaung monastery after lunch. Back to hotel. Overnight in Inle Lake.
Drive to Heho Airport and fly back to Yangon. In the afternoon visit the main market of Yangon Bogyoke. Overnight in Yangon.
A 112-mile overland drive from Yangon to Kim-pun base camp at the foot of the mountain ridge. On the way, take in some sightseeing in Bago, the ancient capital of Mon, including the highest pagoda in Myanmar, a 54-metre long reclining Buddha dating from 994AD and a cigar-making enterprise. A mountain truck will take you to Yathae (Hermit) mountain and from there you can hike for an hour through to Golden Rock. Stay overnight at the hotel near Golden Rock.
In the morning, stroll around the hill sites before returning to Yangon. Overnight in Yangon.
Today will be an excursion to Thanlyin (Sirium) if your departure flight is in the evening. Transfer to the airport for departure.
